reconfiguration works in a children’s ward on a twelve week contract, where
part of the works involved working in a live ward and daily interaction
with the nursing staff. The work was carried out in two phases which were
completed on time and included Mechanical and Electrical installations,
plumbing works, drainage ( including reinstatement / dpm of existing concrete
floors), partitioning, ceilings, new flooring throughout, doors and ironmongery
and the installation of IPS panels to newly formed en-suite bathrooms. All
the existing walls and new partitions were finished in line with the fire
strategy for the existing hospital.

MHU Building, Tameside General Hospital, Ashton-Under-Lyne

This was a delicate and complicated contract due to the works being carried out in a live Low Security Mental Health Unit. Two sides of the unit were refurbished and a new single storey extension was built in between. All works were carried out within a confined area, therefore involving the use of a large crane to deliver and install the concrete pre-stressed floor beams, etc. The whole area was enveloped by new high security fencing and gates, including complex handovers and phasing due to the nature of the patients in and around where we were working. The works also included groundworks, drainage, landscaping, fencing, mechanical and electrical installations, plumbing, screeding, flooring, decoration, kitchen fit outs, brickwork, roofing, ceilings, demolition / alteration, steelwork, plastering and doors / ironmongery with the main emphasis on anti-ligature throughout. The contract was forty weeks and each of the phases were handed over on time.

The scope of our work included installation of new partitioning, suspended ceilings, mass barriers, fire protection, metal clip-in ceilings, shaftwalls, independant wall linings and associated finishes. A further re-visit to the project comprised of reconfiguration of the existing bathroom pods and the general activities room, installation of new fire doors and formation of a new cleaners store.

Facilities include: 48 bedded surgical wards: 6 new operating theatres: centralised out-patient and x-ray department and a dedicated children’s unit. The project comprised of lay-in grid ceilings including feature bulkheads, Mf ceilings to theatres and surgical areas. We also installed backlit specialist ceilings to the Gamma Camera areas and cartoon printed ceilings from the children’s department to the operating theatres.

Fitting out of an empty room on the third floor of a newly completed hospital building, including the formation of an 11 person office. Works included the installation of a fan-coil unit and electrical trunking / data for 11 new desk positions. A new ceiling was installed along with new skirting, door and fixtures and fittings for an office including blinds, decoration and new carpets etc. Appropriate lighting was installed within the new ceiling and the existing fire alarm was altered accordingly.

Our work on this project consisted of the installation of new partitions, suspended ceilings, column encasements, bulkheads including high performance roof/purling encasements, atrium linings, feature walls, tape and fill and plaster finishes, spine walls to staircase areas, Steel Framing System (SFS) to the sports hall which had to be built to specific dimensions to obtain funding by Sports England (minimum area size) and associated wall linings to these areas.

Arthur Terry School, Birmingham.

The contract was the installation of two single storey sets of modular buildings, on to an isolated playground within a secondary school. This required all 16 units having to be craned over an existing two storey sixth form building. The works had to be completed within the six week summer break and included the installation of 64 no concrete pad foundations, drainage works and trenches for new electrical and water installations. Due to the buildings being placed onto the existing tennis courts, the court area had to be extended to include two new tennis courts in-line with Sport England’s requirements. This also involved the moving of existing high jump and long jump pits to the other side of the playing fields. The buildings were completely fitted out as new classrooms including flooring, ceilings, whiteboards, projectors, furniture, doors and all ramped entrance areas. The fire alarms, CCTV Cameras, data, intruder alarm and public address system were all linked back to the existing school. All works were completed and handed over on time ready for the buildings to be used at the start of the new term.

This is a Special Education Needs (SEN) school in the heart of the Hulme regeneration belt on the edge of Manchester city centre. Our scope of work included the installation of the perimeter Steel Framing System (SFS), internal wall linings, partitioning and suspended ceilings. In addition to lay in grid, Pregybel acoustic plasterboard ceilings were installed which resulted in coordination between us, architects and council planners to accommodate the services required in the Pregybel ceilings. Finishes included dot and dab, two coat plastering and tape and joint.
Crowne Plaza Hotel, Manchester.

The Crowne Plaza is a 4* 228 bedroom hotel situated in the heart of Manchester’s prestigious Northern Quarter. Our work on this project comprised of the installation of a mass barrier ceiling to the conference suites, acoustic and fire rated partitioning systems throughout all floors and linings to both the external framing and bedroom precast pods. As expected in a hotel of this quality specialist ceiling are a feature throughout the public areas including atrium reception, gym, bars and restaurants with Acoustic Quatro and Rigitone being used. MF ceilings and feature bulkheads were installed to all 228 bedrooms including the presidential suite and top floor Club Lounge. Lay in grid was installed to back of house areas with metal pan ceilings to main kitchens. Finishes included plastering and tape fill.

This project consisted of the refurbishment and reconfiguration of various floors of the still occupied building. Additional safety controls and management were required throughout this project to minimise the impact of the works on the staff and visitors. The scope of our work included installation of partitioning, suspended ceilings, two coat plastering, taping and jointing, skirting, doors and frames, including all associated ironmongery. The project was carried out on time in a very short timeframe to allow the completed floors to be handed back over to the building staff for re-occupation.

This project was carried out in a number of phases to accommodate the existing buildings staff. This project consisted of the refurbishment and reconfiguration of various floors of the still occupied building. All work was carried out to the highest standards, to ensure the optimum finish was achieved in all areas.

The building comprises of 309 apartments, ranging from one bedroom studios to three bedroom duplex penthouses. Our work on this project included the installation of the Steel Framing System (SFS), cement board, brick tie channels, rigid board, soffit insulation, partitioning, ceiling installation, plastering, shaft walls, acoustic and fire performance, artex, wall linings and column encasements.

Our work on this project consisted of the installation of a Steel Framing System (SFS) including the outside sheathing of cement board, rigid insulation board and brick tie channels, high acoustic performance party walls between retail units and residential apartments, metal stud partitions, wall linings including dot & dab dry lining, skim coat plastering and tape and fill finishes.
