June 2011 – OMEGA Workmanship Site Visit

As an Armstrong Omega Specialist Ceiling Contractor we are regularly vetted on site by Omega to ensure that we are maintaining a standard of workmanship which is complaint with the current Omega criteria.  Omega recently decided to visit us on site at Salford Royal Hospital to assess the standard of our installation.  During the site visit we were evaluated against the current Omega workmanship checklist and achieved a score of 100%!  Thank you to all Kinder operatives and staff who have contributed to our work at Salford Royal Hospital and who have helped us to achieve such a high standard of workmanship. 







May 2011 – Armstrong OCR Video

Working in partnership with Balfour Beatty and Armstrong World Industries at Salford Royal Hospital we have continued to be involved in Armstrong’s revolutionary Off-Cut Recycling (OCR) Scheme.  Due to our continued involvement in the scheme we were asked along with Balfour Beatty, to participate in a promotional video detailing the processes involved and the benefits of running such a recycling scheme.

April 2011 – SMSTS Training


Congratulations to Paul Leigh, Paul Haslam and Roy Haslam for successfully completing the Construction Skills 5 day Site Manager Safety Training Scheme. The five day course was taken on a 1 day a week attendance over 5 weeks. The course trains each individual in the essential points of Health and Safety and shows them how to measure Health and Safety performance on their own site. At the end of the course, each individual had to successfully pass a multiple choice examination which qualified them for the Construction Site Managers Safety Certificate.

April 2011 – Employee Safety Award

Congratulations to John Adams for winning the Balfour Beatty NBHJV Safety Award.  John is a long serving member of Kinder Interiors staff and has won this award for his consistent 100% compliance wi

th safety procedures, including work at height and PPE.  John also regularly contributes practical ideas to improve safety on site, which are then fed back to the Principal Contractor through our company safety representative.

March 2011 – IPAF Training

Following the recent introduction of the Push Around Vertical category by the International Powered Access Federation for the use of Mobile Elevating Work Platforms, Kinder Interiors have proactively taken steps to train another 36 operatives to meet this new requirement. To further benefit each of these operatives and our company we decided to extend the tuition provided to full Mobile Vertical (3a) Training, which surpasses the requirements of the new category and allows these operatives to operate a variety of mobile personnel platforms including scissor lifts.

March 2011 – Employee Safety Award

Congratulations to Dave Harker for winning the Balfour Beatty Construction Safety Award. Dave is Kinder Interiors employee representative at Salford Royal Hospital and has won the award for his ongoing contribution to improving safety on this site. Dave is in attendance at all of the BBCL employee safety meetings and regularly contributes new ideas for ways to improve safety. Following each of the meetings the main items discussed are then fed back by Dave to his colleagues on site, to ensure they are kept up-to-date with the latest site information and to record any comments or suggestions made by them at that time.
